«Empowering Refugees – An Evening of Solidarity» focuses on people who have been displaced from their homes due to conflict or persecution. And this 20 June, on World Refugee Day, DAS ZELT's impressive "Dome" will be in Lucerne and will symbolically offer guests, spectators and artists a roof over their heads.
After an exciting football tournament in Zurich the day before, where several refugee teams will compete against each other, we will then honour the winning teams at the gala under the dome. We will be accompanied by prominent supporters, such as the popular Swiss singer-songwriter Marc Sway. The stage will also belong to the refugees themselves, who will take us into their world with music, humour and extraordinary stories - and thus show how they enrich our society. The evening will be hosted by the well-known presenter Nicole Berchtold. Finally, we will end the evening together with a concert by Marc Sway.
Switzerland has a long humanitarian tradition and has been welcoming refugees for centuries. They are an enrichment for our society - if we do not hinder them, but rather support them. World Refugee Day on 20 June 2024 focuses on solidarity. In view of the current situation in the world, it also underlines the urgency of raising awareness on the growing number of refugees worldwide. With "Empowering Refugees - An Evening of Solidarity", Switzerland for UNHCR has teamed up with DAS ZELT to celebrate solidarity with people who have been forced to leave their homes and now have to build a new life.

DAS ZELT has been touring Switzerland all year round for more than 20 years and is an integral part of the country's cultural scene. The very best of the Swiss and international music, artists and comedy scene will take the stage. The project was created on the Biel Arteplage on the occasion of Expo.02.
The tent landscape consists of 3 round tents, a foyer tent and various side tents. The largest tent, "The Dome", offers seating for 1,042 people.
